She was quickly promoted to senior accountant, supervisor, and audit manager. She managed audits of local governmental entities as well as non profit organizations. In addition, she performed tax compliance engagements for business entities and individuals. Wanting to work closer to her home in St. Mary’s County, Maryland and recognizing the economic growth of the area, Mary Ann and Jenny Wamsley opened Murray & Wamsley, L.L.C. on October 1, 1994. Mary Ann is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and the Maryland Association of Certified Public Accountants (MACPA). Mary Ann is the 2007/2008 Chair of the Board of Directors for St. Mary’s County Chamber of Commerce. She has served on the board of directors of the St. Mary’s Hospital Foundation and the Community Development Corporation. When she is not working, Mary Ann enjoys spending time with her family.
